Mr. Schmuecker has over 25 years of experience in technology as well as risk management, derivatives trading and structuring. In his current role as Managing Director Financial Services and Field Engineering at MongoDB, he advises Financial Services Institutions on architecture and digitization.  Since 2023, Mr. Schmuecker is the head of Field Engineering and focuses on the emerging field of Accelerated Application Modernization with Generative AI. MongoDB is the world’s leading document database and runs some of the largest risk management systems in the world.

Until 2022, Mr. Schmuecker worked at Credit Suisse where he managed a technology department for trade and risk management technology department. Prior to his role in Information Technology, he was the co-head fo FX structuring where he developed a large scale automated securities issuance platform. Mr. Schmuecker co-founded ekkono, a consultancy specialised on risk and trading technology with customers in New York and Germany.

Mr. Schmuecker studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Darmstadt, Germany.
